What You Should Know about the Dangers of Herniated Disc in Neck Chiropractic Treatment
Did you know that for some people with a herniated disc in the neck, chiropractic treatment can be dangerous? In this video, chiropractor Dr. Lou Bisogni tells us about when chiropractic care should be avoided in patients with a cervical herniated disc.
Patients who are known to have an extruded herniated disc, sequestered herniated disc, spinal cord compression or nerve damage are not candidates for chiropractic treatment and should not receive manipulation from any practitioner. We advise any patient with nerve compression from a herniated disc to avoid chiropractic care that involves manipulation of the neck. Discuss with your practitioner the risks of this treatment before you start.
