Patents
Dr. Neubardt is involved with research and been awarded ten US patents. He has invented five surgical procedures which have each been recognized with a US patent in his name. He is the sole inventor on several spinal patents, including one patent for a new spinal procedure to safely insert spinal screws that is now in use in over 600 hospitals in America and over 25 countries worldwide. Dr. Neubardt introduced the concept for a specialized spinal drill to be used in surgery and he was one of the leaders in the team that spent seven years developing this drill. It is now manufactured by Medtronic and used throughout the world under the brand name, “Powerease System”.
He is a leader in developing technology to make minimally invasive spinal surgery possible. Below are some of the inventions he has created, with diagrams from the US patent office displayed.
When considering surgery for your back, it’s important to have a surgeon who is familiar with new technology so that you can be sure your surgery is done using the most minimally invasive and safe techniques. It’s even better to have a surgeon, such as Dr. Neubardt, who is a leader in design and development of that technology.
